Wasting my time is not something I enjoy. With four kids, a husband, two blogs, church obligations and everything that goes along with it, I don’t have time to labor in vain. Do you labor in vain?
Everything we do, needs to start with God as the center. He needs to be the one to build our homes. He needs to be the one who I look to every morning while on my knees. I cannot do it alone.
Ladies, we often time think we can tackle anything without help from anyone. And honestly, that is what the world keeps telling us. We are strong, we are independent, we are women! By relying on God and trusting Him to help form our homes and lives, we are not proclaiming weakness. We are trusting in the One who gave us our blessings in the first place.
It’s The Name of the Game
It is sometimes so hard to start our day in God’s Word. Babies are up 2 hours early, the fourteen year old comes upstairs reminding you he needs to get to school early and school lunches need to be packed.
It’s the name of the game for motherhood.
Find time in your day to focus on God and His word. Build your day on God. Set aside indisputable time for our Lord. I get it. I get it. Finding time can be difficult when you have young children at your feet. I was given this advice once:
:: When you are folding clothes, pray for the person whose clothes you are folding.
:: When you are washing dishes, thank God for the food that was on the plates.
:: When you are making the bed, pray for your husband.
:: When you are making school lunches, pray for the teachers.
God knows how busy we really are. (As long as we don’t confuse true busyness and “busy” Facebook scrolling.) He gets it. Just set aside time for Him and let Him build your home and family.
Do you labor in vain?
Don’t push God aside. He needs to be your all and you need to make everything you do for His glory. Life won’t be perfect, but everything you do (including scrubbing the toilets) will be to bring honor to Him. How does scrubbing toilets honor Him? You are serving your family. You are showing your children how to take care of a house. You are making your home inviting for guests.
You are building your house on the Lord.
